Russias intervention and military attacks in Georgia are unacceptable and in conflict with international law and the sovereignty of a free and independent state. Both parties in the conflict must immediately withdraw its forces brought in the last days in South- Ossetia in order to open up for direct negotiations between the parties concerned under the auspices of the international community and United Nations in order to organize international peacekeeping in the framework of UN only and with substantial contribution from European Union. We call for an immediate cease fire, respected from all sides.
