Today Commissioner Jonathan Hill revealed the Commission’s Action Plan for a Capital Markets Union (CMU).
– I welcome the initiative. We need to make the European economy competitive. A competitive economy requires less complex regulation and better conditions for investments. One of the most important issues for economic growth is to attract investments and to make investments more attractive. The only way forward is reforms for better functioning markets in order to create growth and new jobs, said Gunnar Hökmark, Member of the European Parliament, EPP Group.
– It is important to point to the fact that we already today have number of well-functioning capital markets in the union. Now we need to create a capital market for the whole union. That is the purpose with the Action Plan for a Capital Markets Union, said Gunnar Hökmark.
