Today Mr Hökmark met with Mr Stubb, Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade of Finland, and Mr Schwab, EPP Group IMCO coordinator, to discuss further actions on how to step up the implementation of the Single Market legislation, in order to remove the restrictions that hinder access and competition.
The institutions should agree on a binding calendar and concrete measures for enforcing the Single Market legislation
• We call on the European Commission to swiftly bring forward a proposal to overcome the remaining obstacles for the application of the Service Directive applicable to all sectors
• Building a European Digital Single Market is crucial since it can be a driver for 201 competitiveness and economic growth, providing highly-qualified jobs.
This resolution will now be finally approved by the EPP congress in Bucharest which will take place on 16-17 October.
