”We must use European funding for broadband in order to achieve coverage where commercial investors can’t invest – thereby connecting the world’s biggest digital market – and to reach our universities, cities and capitals’ levels of capacity, above which is commercially possible today. A revised and more ambitious European Digital Agenda needs to set targets in gigabytes and not in megabytes.”
”Leadership in the use of broadband, mobile data traffic and Internet services is crucial for growth, productivity and competitiveness. We all know that. All governments know it. The Commission knows it. Industry knows it. And the rest of the world knows it. So if we agree on the need for growth, we have to act now!”, concluded Gunnar Hökmark.
